Over the last month or so we’ve added a couple of regular features to the site. We’re very excited about our new shop where you can buy HBB merchandise (Shaka for books!) and Hawaiian language t-shirts. Plus, we’ve started a ‘Hawaiian word of the day’ on the site and Twitter (@olelooftheday).
Now you can follow ʻŌlelo of the Day on Facebook! Bringing the Hawaiian language into contemporary, everyday use, ʻŌlelo of the Day is often humorous and reflective of current events or pop-culture. We hope it encourages others to learn and use Hawaiian because it is a beautiful and vibrant language that should be perpetuated. We want to spread the love for the Hawaiian language by making it fun and applicable to everyday life.
In celebration of how successful ʻŌlelo of the Day has been so far, we’re doing a giveaway! Spread the word and tell all your friends and family! Follow @olelooftheday on Twitter or “Like” it on Facebook and be entered to win your choice of either Hawaiian Word Magnets or Pidgin to da Max Magnets. If you’re already following @olelooftheday on Twitter you’ll automatically be entered. AND if you retweet our giveaway announcement you’ll receive an additional entry. Contest ends next week May 17th, 12:00 am PST, winner will be chosen at random.
Please see our giveaway guidelines or send us an email if you have any questions.
MAHALO plenty for reading Hawaii Book Blog and helping us spread the word about ʻŌlelo of the Day!
