- 09:30am – At the Spring 2010 Taste of Waialua festival at the Old Sugar Mill in Wailaua, Author and “Dr. Coffee” Shawn Steiman of Coffea Consulting will present a short seminar on coffee roasting and how it affects coffee cup quality. Will also be signing copies of his book The Hawai‘i Coffee Book: A Gourmet’s Guide from Kona to Kaua‘i. More info
- 10:00am – Bill’s Bookmobile returns on Saturdays. Specials for this day include military history, biography, cookbooks, gardening, hobbies, wedding and children’s books. Paperback fiction is 50 cents, Romance novels – $5 per bag. More info
- 10:00am – Storytime at Barnes & Noble in Lahaina! Bring the kids. More info
- 10:00am – Hawaii Literacy volunteers meet at the Advertiser Print/Distribution Facility, Kapolei. Find out how you can volunteer to help this worthy cause. Contact 537-6706.
- 10:30am – Family Storytime kicks off at the Hawaii State Library. The Child Abuse Prevention Planning Council is sponsoring these free 30-minute story times. Each child receives a free goody bag with treats and informational material for parents, while supplies last. More info
- 10:30am – Author Talk at Kapolei Public Library! Romance author Jill Marie Landis talks about her newest novel Heart of Stone, sponsored by the Romance Writers of America, Aloha Chapter. More info
- 11:00am – It’s Storytime at Barnes & Noble Ala Moana! Reading of The Easter Egg: See if Hoppi the bunny wins the Easter egg decorating contest. More info
- 11:00am – Celebrate the season at Borders across Hawaii. A Springtacular Kids Event will feature stories, music and crafts. Top it all off with our annual Spring Parade! One lucky child will win a Laurie Berkner Band CD at each store! Join in on the Springy fun! Call your local store for event details. More info
- 11:00am – Book signing with author/photographer Jim Denny at Kauai Museum signing his new title A Photographic Guide to the Birds of Hawaii. More info
- 02:00pm – National Poetry Month Poetry Reading at Hawaii State Library with Honolulu Community College instructor, Eric Paul Schaffer. Come and hear old and new favorite poems, guest readers, and poems from the author. More info
- 02:00pm – Author Event with Dr. Ayin Adams and Special Guest Helene Hale at Basically Books bookstore in Hilo, HI. They’ll be celebrating African-Americans in Hawaii: A Search For Identity. More info
- 03:00pm – Damron Dancers Tap Program at Kailua-Kona Public Library. An educational and entertaining program on the art of tap dance, plus a disucssion on the origin of tap. More info
- 03:30pm – Author Event with Dr. Kathryn Waddell Takara at Basically Books bookstore in Hilo, HI. The celebration of African Americans in Hawaii continues as Dr. Kathryn Waddell Takara will be presenting a collection of her poetry entitled Tourmalines: Beyond the Ebony Portal. More info
