- 04:00pm – Petroglyphs From Hawaii Journal Author and Illustrator Lynn Cook will sign books and offer free bookmark stamping for every guest at Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, Duke’s Lobby.
- 06:00pm – Kaimuki Middle School Poetry Night at Barnes & Noble Kahala Mall. Join in as Mrs. Maii’s class from Kaimuki Middle School shares some of their poetry with everyone. More info
- 07:00pm – Holiday Storytime at Barnes & Noble Kahala Mall and Ala Moana. Children of all ages are invited to experience holiday joy at The Polar Express Storytime. - 08:00am – While you’re out getting your local ingredients at the Kapiolani Community College Farmers’ Market, stop by the Kuahiwi Ranch Tent! Chef Alan Wong will give a demonstration on sauces and sign copies of his latest cookbook, The Blue Tomato. Demo at 8AM; signing to follow. More info at http://www.thebluetomato.net. - 10:00am – Enjoy this kids’ weekly story time at Borders in Pearlridge Shopping Center. More info
- 10:00am – Book Signing event at Bishop Museum. From 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Linda Ching will be available to discuss and signs her book, `Ao, Ten Years of Light. Call 591-2060 for more information.
- 10:30am – Come to Kapolei Public Library for A Christmas Concert with the Kapolei Chorale. They will perform a variety of holiday season favorites for the whole family to enjoy. The Kapolei Chorale’s vast repertoire includes: classical, Broadway, folk, and contemporary songs sung in the English, Hawaiian, Latin, and Filipino languages. The Friends of the Library, Kapolei is sponsoring this 45-minute program. For more information, call 693-7050.
- 10:30am – “The Great Davidio” will perform a holiday magic show for children ages 3 and older at Hawaii Kai Public Library. Following his performance, there will be a Christmas craft activity for families to do together. Light refreshments will be served after the magic show. This two-hour holiday program is sponsored by the Friends of the Hawaii Kai Public Library. For more information, call 397-5833.
- 11:00am – The Sakura Ensemble will be presenting a music program at Kealakekua Public Library (Big Island). This special concert will feature seasonal music and excerpts from the Nutcracker. All ages are welcome. This program is offered free to the public. - 11:00am – Author Signing event at Barnes & Noble Ala Moana. Meet author Patricia Lei Murray, she will read and sign her new book I Choose You in the Children’s Department. - 11:00am – Enjoy a Holiday Kids Event at Borders Books & Music across Hawai’i. Check out the best holiday gifts Borders has to offer! - 11:00am – Talkin’ Trash with James McCarthey at Aina Haina Public Library. James McCarthy, a storyteller and musician, will engage the audience with lively music and songs as he teaches the three great reasons for recycling: earn money, help create new products, and taking care of our island and planet. This free one-hour program is suitable for all ages. For more information, call 377-2456.
- 11:45am – The Hawaii State Library will host “Music for the Holiday Season,” a 45-minute program suitable for ages 5 years and older. Under the direction of Carl Crosier, the choir will perform a variety of Christmas carols, motets and chants. For more information, call 586-3520.
- 12:00pm – Come to the Costco on Maui to meet Chef Tylun Pang as he signs copies of his latest cookbook What Maui Likes To Eat. Source
- 12:00pm – Katie Grove-Velasquez and Michael Ogata will be signing their new children’s book, Nai`a to the Rescue. They will be at Borders Books & Music at Maui Marketplace. Source
- 12:00pm – Author book signing at the Book Gallery in downtown Hilo (Big Island). Author Patsy Iwasaki will be on hand to sign copies of her new graphic novel Hamakua Hero: A True Plantation Story. - 02:00pm – Author Event with Senator Fred Rohlfing at Basically Books in Hilo (Big Island). - 02:30pm – Creating Mini-Books: An Eco-Style Recycling Craft Program will be held at the Hawaii State Library. Craft expert Evelyn Nakamura will conduct a 45-minute craft program that will feature the construction of mini-books from recycled materials. Registration is required—program is limited to 20 participants. The program will be held in the Art, Music, & Recreation section on the Library’s 2nd floor. - 09:00am – All day Sunday, from 9am to 1pm, enjoy Chef Alan Wong’s Holiday Market! Alan Wong’s Restaurant on 1857 S. King St. will be converted into a marketplace featuring farm-fresh products, delightful gift items, and, of course, Chef Alan’s new book, The Blue Tomato. Chef will sign his book throughout the event. Shoppers have the option of purchasing ala carte “tasting tickets” to sample each of two dishes from The Blue Tomato; tickets are $6 each (one ticket = one sample dish).
