- Swingin’ On A Star: A Winter Holiday Program – Peter and Melinda Wing will explore the holiday cheer of many cultures. They will present an out-of-this-world program of stories, fun songs and skits about things extra-terrestrial, stellar, celestial, astral, galactic and cosmic. They will seek out new silliness and will go boldly where no library patron has gone before. Their delightful performances include music, storytelling and audience participation. This 45-minute program is recommended for ages 3 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Lanai Public & School Library; 2:15 P.M. - Book Celebration: Saving Paradise – Moloka‘i based author Michael Bond reveals his new suspense novel. Based on his own experiences as a war and human rights journalist in dangerous, remote, and war-torn regions; Bonds’ novels depict the terror and fury of battle and the intense joy of love, the vanishing beauty of the natural world, and the nature of the universe and its many meanings for human life. - Lynn Farr: What’s Cookin’? – Lynn Farr is still off the grid in her latest book, Off The Grid: What’s Cookin’? - International Christmas Carolers – A group made up of members of various local choirs will perform international Christmas carols. - Stuart Nicholls Book Signing – Thunder Road: The Journey Home is the new book by author Stuart Nicholls. It tells the story of a soldier who fought the war in the jungles of Vietnam, back in the U.S., as well as in his own mind. The book will be available for cash and check purchases only. - Christmas Concert w/ the Sandra Wong String Studio – Students and alumni from the Sandra Wong String Studio will perform contemporary Christmas songs, hymns, and carols. - Book Celebration: Hula is Healing – Hula is Healing by Whitney Pi‘ilani Baldwin Schneider-Furuya and illustrations by Mapuana Schneider. A mother, a daughter, their ohana and halau will be celebrating the debut release of the book, Hula is Healing, with all of us in the breezeway of Nā Mea Hawai‘i. Come bask in the celebration as we take time to honor what hula and its traditions mean to us. Light refreshments to follow.
