Happy New Year!!!!!! It’s 2011 and that means it’s time, it’s time, it’s Book End Time! Welcome to the return of Book End, highlighting the weekend’s literary and library events here in Hawaii.
We’re always looking for new ways to help spread the joy and discovery of Hawaii’s books, whether its to the multitude of our neighbors here in the Hawaiian Islands or to interested readers all across the United States and around the world. One of the ideas we wanted to implement, was to use Tumblr in order to post something simple on a daily basis. We came up with the idea to do “Hawaii Book A Day!” on Tumblr where we’ll feature a picture of the front cover of a Hawaii-related book and a quote from that book—usually from either the introduction or first page, depending on which sounds better. We also added a widget on our page, featuring the “Hawaii Book A Day” on the sidebar. We hope you enjoy our Hawaii Book A Day! and feel free to share any thoughts you may have about that book with us on the page, or on our Facebook page where we’ll link to each daily featured book.
