For us, this is a big weekend here at Hawaii Book Blog. Once again we will be having a keiki Rec-Fest, similar to the one we had in August 2009—also at a Barnes & Noble Kahala First Book-Oahu fundraising event. Remember, for this entire weekend if you purchase anything at a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Hawai’i and mention “First Book” at the register, part of the proceeds of your purchase will go to help First Book-Oahu raise money to buy books for impoverished children.
For more information on the First Book-Oahu Book Fair and our own Rec-Fest, please check out the following links:
Also, we still need your help! If you are reading this, leave us a comment on which Hawaii children’s books you would like us to review. Do you have a favorite that we can find in the store? Let us know and we’ll review it and give you credit! You will also be eligible as one of the first people to win a new “Shaka For Books” t-shirt. Details on that can be found here:
