It’s time…it’s time…it’s Book End Time! Welcome to this week’s Book End, highlighting the weekend’s literary and library events here in Hawaii.
Book Signings Galore
Wow! I haven’t seen this many book signings all in one weekend for a long time. Thanks to the usual Fall output of new books, we finally have a situation where there might be one too many book events going on at the same time. Depending on who you are and where your interests lie, there is a book for everyone out there: from keiki books to cookbooks, from kitschy non-fiction to thought-provoking novels. I encourage you to support these local writers where you can!
National Alzheimer’s Month
Check out these important words from my buddy, Wordsworth the Poet: “In honor of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, Mom’s publisher, Watermark Publishing, is offering 30% off your entire book order when you purchase either of her books, Mosaic Moon or Wordsworth Dances the Waltz—that’s a story about me and how my family and I learned to cope with Grandma growing so for…getful. Use code ALZMNTH at www.bookshawaii.net.” What a great deal!
BeachHouse Publishing
If you haven’t heard, BeachHouse Publishing is now on Facebook! BeachHouse is responsible for a roster of excellent children’s books, including new books this year such as Kekoa and the Egg Mystery and Lio the Carousel Horse [see our preview post here]. Show your support for this local publisher (an imprint of Mutual) and become a fan of them on Facebook: BeachHouse Facebook Page
