It’s time…it’s time…it’s Book End Time! Welcome to this week’s Book End, highlighting the week’s literary and library events here in Hawaiʻi.
Return of the Blog
We’re back! After a two week layoff, Book End is back to bring you the book-related events you crave! We had a terrific time on our vacation to Scotland/Northern England and London and still have a lot to process from that trip. We might have a few interesting posts we’ll put out in the coming week or two related to our trip and some of the literary and off-topic items of note that we’d like to share.
We’re also ready to get back into the groove of Hawaii’s literary scene. We’re sad that we missed so much in just two weeks: Lee Cataluna and Victoria Kneubuhl events, tons of great library offerings, Teen Read Week, the HIFF screening of The Descendants, and so much more! Forgive us and look forward to reading HBB with a renewed vigor. Look out for a ton of book reviews, soon…we may even call November a “Book Review Bonanza.” So, thank you for sticking with us and we hope you enjoy what we’ll be offering to you in the coming weeks.
Filipino Komiks – Last Chance
It’s the last two days to view the “Filipino Komiks” exhibit in the First Floor Reading Room of the Hawaii State Library. Explore how Filipinos express themselves to themselves through this exhibit that attempts to present a generalized approach to understanding the comics phenomena which captivates Filipino society. For more information, contact the library’s Language, Literature & History Section at 586-3499.
