It’s time…it’s time…it’s Book End Time! Welcome to this week’s Book End, highlighting the week’s literary and library events here in Hawaiʻi.

Today is the birthday of Hawaiʻi’s last reigning monarch, Liliʻuokalani.  One of the many hats (crowns?) worn by the multi-talented monarch was that of a writer and author.  One of the must-read pieces of Hawaii history is her book Hawaii’s Story by Hawaii’s Queen.  One of Misty’s first posts on Hawaii Book Blog talked briefly about it. You can read it here: [Lili’uokalani: Queen & Author].  It’s such an important part of Hawaii’s past, we definitely want to revisit it again in the future.  Hauʻoli Lā Hānau, Queen Liliʻuokalani!
