Author Juliet S. Kono will be featured in a “Meet the Author” program at Kapolei Public Library on Saturday, September 25 at 11 a.m. in the Adult Fiction Section (second floor).
Kono will read selections from her latest book “Anshū” and share some of her experiences while writing the novel. “Anshū,” based on historical events, is a tale of passion and human triumph in the face of extraordinary adversity, spanning the cane fields of Hawaii to the devastation of Hiroshima. The heroine of the story finds herself adapting in unexpected ways just to survive during the war.
The one-hour program will include a question-and-answer session and is suitable for ages 12 and older. Contact the Library two weeks in advance if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
