Nanowrimo = National Novel Writing Month = November!
That’s 30 days to complete a rough draft of 50,000 words and believe me it’s quite a challenge. But it’s also a liberating experience and a great chance to get the ideas flowing and down on paper. Although I’d heard about Nanowrimo in 2004 this is only my third year participating, and hopefully it’ll be my first year completing the challenge. I usually get off to a great start and make it about halfway(25,000 words) before getting bogged down. I’m a bit of an A.D.D. writer and tend to jump around a lot with my projects, but as the cliche goes, the third time is the charm so here I go again.
If you’re a writer type or would just like to work out some of your ideas for the next great American novel, the Oahu Nanowrimo group is very active and friendly! Check out the main webpage at www.nanowrimo.org or visit the Hawaii region page for more info. Good luck to all you Hawaii WriMo’s!
