The National League of American Pen Women Honolulu is hosting its biennial writers’ conference on March 31st! Register before March 28th to attend the all day event with lunch or postmark your registration by March 9th for extra savings. Women and men of all skill levels are encouraged to attend! I went to the last one in 2010 and had an excellent time. That’s where I got to learn about memoir writing with Darien Gee, and character development with Wendy Miyake. Check out my full recap from 2010.
This year’s theme “The Power of Story” features keynote speaker and special guest Jaquelyn Mitchard, whose prolific writing career includes nine adult novels, five young adult novels and four children’s books. She will be giving the keynote address and leading two workshops on structure.
This conference also packs a powerful lineup of local writers not to be overlooked. Take a gander at the conference schedule below. The hardest part will be trying to figure out which sessions to go to. I’m already torn for the first time slot between Victoria Kneubuhl and Lee Tonouchi! As you can see, there are some great sessions planned so visit the NLAPW Honolulu site and register today!
