One of our missions here at Hawaii Book Blog is to help promote local literacy events such as book fairs, library programs and book signings.  We enjoy going to these and want to ensure that as many people out there know when and where these events are taking place.

This past Saturday, November 20th, there were more book signings and major literary happenings than we’ve seen in a long time.  We tried our best to make a schedule and attend as many of these events as possible and thought we’d sum up our exploits for you with a photo gallery!

We also met briefly with Bob Hogue, the author of Sands of Lanikai which he described as both a nostalgic look at Kailua in the 1940's and a story on the events happening on the Windward side during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

We hope this inspires you to attend a literary event in the future to help support our local authors, illustrators and publishers!

To keep up to date with literary events, follow us on Twitter and Facebook, read our Book End posts every Friday morning highlighting the weekend’s literary/library events, and consistently check out our Event Calendar where we try to post all the events happening every day.
